Cooper Valves needed a major brand refresh to modernize their product catalogs, IOMs, and technical literature. By leveraging 3D product renderings and creating a signature blueprint aesthetic, we positioned their materials on par with the industry’s top players. This transformation not only improved visual appeal and readability but also inspired competitors to adopt similar standards. Our work established Cooper Valves as a forward-thinking brand, with a cohesive, engineering-focused design that resonated across every product sheet.

The primary goal of this project was to elevate Cooper Valves’ branding and set a new visual standard in the industry. By implementing high-quality 3D renderings, we provided a technically accurate yet aesthetically polished presentation. The blueprint concept became a recognizable motif, reinforcing Cooper Valves as a brand synonymous with precision and innovation.

Additionally, the IOM guides improved the user experience, ensuring that every valve shipped with clear, well-structured documentation. This project demonstrated how strategic design choices could not only improve marketing materials but also enhance customer satisfaction and usability.

Before & After: Part Breakdown – The old vector-style diagram lacked depth and clarity, while the new 3D-rendered breakdown provided photo-realistic textures and lighting, making each component’s material and purpose immediately clear.

Challenges

Modernizing technical product literature for an engineering-heavy industry was a challenge, as many competitors relied on outdated vector drawings and text-heavy sheets. We needed to create a visual system that maintained technical integrity while improving readability and engagement.

Additionally, transitioning from traditional 2D graphics to 3D renderings required extensive adaptation of SolidWorks models for marketing purposes.

Solutions

We introduced a blueprint-driven layout that positioned each 3D-rendered valve as the centerpiece of its own engineering drawing. This established a modern, high-tech identity while keeping the designs clean and informative.

Our 3D cutaways revolutionized how product data was presented, making it easier to understand. The IOM guides ensured customers had access to clear, structured instructions, improving the user experience and reducing installation errors.

It was an effective way to limit the need for physical catalogs, which our client was finding to be a hassle to print and an unnecessary expense in a digital world.
