We produced Ranger’s wireline and fishing tool catalogs with photoreal 3D renders, perspective layouts that showcase long tools, and two tier content pages that split selling benefits from technical specs. Real materials, textured surfaces, and controlled lighting give credibility, while structured tables deliver details that close deals. The result is persuasive, engineer friendly collateral that replaced legacy materials and supported a smooth post acquisition rollout for the new service line.

Project Goals & Purpose

The brief called for catalogs that make long, technical tools easy to evaluate and buy. Before building pages, we modeled each product to near photographic accuracy, dialing in textures, edge wear, and bump maps so lighting reveals form without flattening surfaces. Because the tools are long and thin, we planned perspective compositions that present both ends in one frame, creating scale and orientation without shrinking the product. Content flow needed to respect two audiences. Buyers get concise benefits and use cases up front. Engineers get complete specifications, tolerances, and tables immediately after. We designed the system to scale quickly as new tools arrive, so templates, color semantics, and label rules stay consistent across the catalog family.

Challenges

The product geometry made full length images feel small on the page, so framing had to add scale without distortion. Some stakeholders were skeptical of 3D due to past low quality experiences. The catalogs were text heavy and specification dense, which risked visual fatigue. Legacy Patriot branding elements lingered in early references. Leadership needed content quickly to support the newly acquired services, while engineering required accuracy in all labeled details and tables.

Solutions

We built precise 3D models and used lighting to emphasize texture and edges, then composed dual end perspectives that show both sides clearly in one scene. A two page pattern separates benefits from specifications, keeping reading paths clean. Master templates standardized grids, color semantics, and annotation rules. We validated dimensions and labels with engineering before lock. Close up cover crops created visual interest while interior pages carried the depth.
