Why Our Subscription Works

When I started Predi Designs in 2016, I wanted freedom from the cycle of uncertainty that followed me through traditional jobs. I had felt the weight of not knowing if the next paycheck would be the last, and it chipped away at my confidence. Building my own studio was a chance to fix that and to serve clients the way I wish I had been served. I wanted stability, and I wanted the ability to say yes with a clear mind.

Clients deserve to ask for help without worrying about surprise charges. I deserve to focus on design without constant billing distractions. That simple promise created a healthier rhythm for everyone involved. Predictable revenue gave me the headspace to listen, to be patient, and to be flexible for clients when different teams needed me to lock-in. Saying yes became my default, and stability turned that promise into something I could keep every day.

about

We’re a high-quality, all-inclusive graphic design subscription for brands and businesses.

  • The transition away from the three-tiered pricing system ended up simplifying the business model for everyone, myself included. Ultimately this was the best call to keep clientele happy without overburdening myself.

    Complexity looked clever, clarity wins

    Three Tiers For Predi Designs!

In the early years, I thought giving clients maximum flexibility would be an ideal situation for them. I built a three tier system that billed at the end of the month based on usage. On paper it looked fair because lighter use meant a smaller bill, and it took only a small effort on my part to track. In practice it created hesitation, frustration, and confusion. The tiered system stopped clients from using me to my full potential. Clients should feel encouraged to create, not worried about a moving target.

After one particularly unexpected and hostile phone call, it became clear that this tiered system wasn’t working for my customers. I decided to meet in the middle with a price point that would work for everyone. It took very little convincing to get my clients on board. Those conversations taught me as much as any book. With one price, I could say yes without checking a chart, and clients could ask without fear. Our talks shifted from line items to outcomes. Approvals moved faster, and the work got better.

  • Budget certainty without creative limits

    Why Clients Like The Subscription

A frequent question from subscribers is, “How much would it cost to build this.” The answer is simple, “As long as it is for your company, nothing extra.” That sentence removes fear and invites ideas. Teams stop saving requests for later and start shipping work now. Local groups build their own plans, and I help turn rough outlines into useful assets. I cheer their wins and keep them moving when roadblocks pop up.

Finance teams appreciate that the subscription is a single predictable line on their budget, often well below the total cost of a full time hire with equipment, software, 401(K), benefits, and more.

Employees at brands underneath our subscription often seem hesitant to collaborate with us until they learn it costs the company no extra charge. It's opened the floodgates, which is great for those of us who love to create.

Without getting into specifics, I have witnessed several clients maintain their subscription with Predi Designs through multiple leadership & marketing team layoffs because the results kept coming without the need to hire or expand staff. Even when a new executive team stepped in and reorganized departments, the subscription stayed in place because it consistently delivered the creative output they needed without adding additional overhead. In one case a company decided to cancel all outside services during a corporate reset. Months later, after testing other options, they came back and renewed at a new, higher rate, acknowledging that the quality and reliability they had before were difficult to replace. That experience reinforced how valuable a predictable, high-quality partnership can be.

With Predi Designs, clients also get continuity of care so they aren’t left sending design requests to any non-specific emails and wondering if they will get the same designer as last time.

  • Focus & Freedom

Why I Prefer The Subscription Too

Working from home gives me a space that supports creative work. My commute is a short walk, iced coffee in hand, and the office barista is me. I keep my email responses inside standard business hours so clients know exactly when to expect a reply, but I also give myself the flexibility to step out for errands or quick breaks when it makes sense. That small freedom helps me come back to the desk fresh and focused, ready to design with a clear head.

Financially, working on a subscription basis allows me to spread income across multiple clients, so one change in a single account never throws my month off balance. The subscription provides me with financial security, something a full-time graphic design job never could.

I never track time, because time sheets drain energy and reward the wrong behavior. Fast, efficient work should be a benefit, not a penalty. The subscription gives me room to learn new tools when a project asks for something fresh. I keep promises manageable and consistent, which establishes a level of trust between myself and my clients. Variety keeps the craft sharp and the output fun to make. I am grateful that this model lets me say yes and still sleep well at night.

My goal is to be the person who is easy to reach, easy to brief, and easy to work with, the kind of partner who makes a marketing team’s job easier from the first email to the final file.

    Blocks Instead of Line Items

    How Subscriptions Scale The Business

Predictable revenue turns planning into a real system.  One of my least favorite things to do is talk money or invoicing. Autopay by ACH keeps billing quiet and accurate, which frees more time for design. Because subscription revenue arrives in steady, predictable blocks, I can plan for growth with confidence.

Hiring no longer feels like a gamble. I can map out when and how to add designers and set aside funds for incentives. When someone on the team takes vacation or faces an unexpected absence, another person can step in and be rewarded for the extra effort. Those perks naturally align with the qualities that matter most, quality, speed, and reliability, so everyone is motivated to keep standards high while supporting one another.

It opens opportunities for me to accommodate clients during challenging financial hurdles. When the pandemic hit and one of my long-time clients was struggling to keep contractors paid, I offered a steep temporary discount so they could keep essential projects moving. I wanted them to know that our relationship mattered more than short-term revenue. Once their business stabilized, they reached out on their own and voluntarily increased their monthly rate, higher than the original amount, simply to show appreciation for the flexibility and trust we had built.

Operationally, the subscription model keeps the workflow simple and repeatable. Incoming requests flow through a clear intake process, followed by a regular review that helps me balance priorities. It scales without the bloat that follows hourly billing. I can deliver first drafts that are already close to final, guide clients through well-organized revision rounds, and finish every project with dependable, on-schedule delivery. This approach shortens the feedback cycle and keeps momentum high, so teams see polished work early and know that final files aren’t far behind. If there’s errors, I correct it quickly and thank the client for pointing it out.

The business stays lean, and every hour saved in admin goes straight into better design.

  • Predi Designs began with a lean idea, an agency where I could handle a wide range of projects, build strong client relationships, and keep the work efficient. For a long time, that approach worked. I started young. As a teenager, I spent free time animating cartoons for the internet and making Flash games for people to play. I loved it, and I loved collaborating with other talented kids around the world. Animation needed voice actors. Games needed programmers. We found each other in forums and chat groups, working together because we wanted to, without contracts or deadlines.

  • One belief has guided how I work for years, long before Predi Designs ever existed. Rarely is a marketing project truly urgent enough to ruin a weekend. Marketing matters, but it is not life or death. If a project cannot survive even the shortest of turnaround times, something upstream has already gone very wrong. Over time, that belief became more than a personal preference. It shaped how I structure client relationships, how I set boundaries, and how Predi Designs operates as a subscription partner. I have seen what happens when teams live in constant emergency mode, and it is not sustainable. It burns out good people and produces rushed work that rarely performs well, and has the potential to hurt the brand with overlooked mistakes and rash decisions. The goal has never been to work less. The goal has always been to work better. That philosophy shows up in every subscription we run.

  • The early months of the COVID lockdown created stress for nearly every business I worked alongside. Clients were juggling layoffs, unpredictable budgets and constantly shifting priorities, and most of them were trying to keep their teams afloat with limited financial clarity. One client in particular was falling behind on invoices with no clear path to catch up. The sudden silence surrounding payment was unusual. They were still sending work, still pushing for campaigns and content, yet visibly struggling to communicate about finances. I felt undervalued at the time, but I also understood the pressure their internal teams faced. After two months of unpaid work, I made a decision that felt risky but human. I reached out with empathy instead of confrontation, which turned out to shape the next several years of our partnership. It became one of the most defining business lessons of my career, and a reminder that relationships are often more valuable than short term frustration. For anyone building a business rooted in trust, this story might resonate.
