Always Learning. Always Improving.
For me, challenging projects with new software or mediums break the mold and move me beyond the familiar. They ask me to learn something new, whether it is a new software tool, a new industry, or an entirely new skill. In those moments, design stops feeling like a service and starts feeling like an adventure.
Last year I pushed my skill set further than I expected. I learned PHP and JavaScript to strengthen web development. I rigged 3D models in a new animation program. I designed for mobile applications and adjusted my process for a different medium. I mastered motion tracking in After Effects to land precise visual effects. Each project nudged my comfort zone a little farther. Over time, those small steps compound.
For this project, I needed to learn z-brush to morph the pedestal under the valve to look natural in the final graphic.
Getting Locked-In
The Flow State
There is a reason new challenges feel so rewarding. Psychologists call it flow state, a mental zone where you are fully engaged. To reach it, the task must be challenging but still attainable. If work is too easy, boredom sets in. If it is too hard, frustration takes over. When a project stretches your abilities and stays within reach, you drop into deep focus where time moves quickly and the work clicks. The best projects do not just use your current skills. They expand them.
Predi Designs runs on a subscription model that grows with me. It is not a fixed menu of services. It is everything I can do. As my skills increase, the value of the subscription increases with them. Clients who joined years ago now get stronger web development, richer animation, and cleaner special effects because I kept improving. A traditional agency often adds fees for specialized work. With a Predi Designs subscription, if I learn it, you get it.
How Our Clients Can Help
Getting My Fix
No one wants an uninspired designer who is just going through the motions. We enjoy helping with everyday needs, and we are most energized when you bring ideas that sit outside the box and push us as well.
If you have an unusual or ambitious idea, ask anyway. It might be exactly the kind of project we would love to take on. It could unlock the next skill that makes our service even more valuable to you.
I experimented with cloth simulations for the first time when creating this American flag graphic for one of my most patriotic clients.

- Before we even touch sketches, fonts, or clever symbolism, it helps to admit one simple thing, logo work messes with people’s heads. It’s one of the few creative tasks where taste, ego, fear, and pride all show up to the meeting at the same time. Everyone wants a result that feels obvious, but the route to “obvious” is usually a pile of awkward drafts, second guesses, and sudden strong opinions from someone who has never cared about design until now. That emotional mix is why the process can feel slower, louder, and strangely personal compared to other projects. If you’ve ever wondered why a tiny graphic can spark a full-on committee debate, welcome, this is that part of the ride.
- Most people look at a monthly design cost and make a quick judgment. It is either too high or it’s cheap labor that doesn’t deliver. Somewhere in the middle, there is a number that makes people pause and ask, “What could I actually get for this?” That is usually where the real discussion starts. What does a designer actually cost? What are you paying for when you hire in-house versus working with an agency or a subscription? And why do some options that seem cheaper upfront end up costing more over time? There is a lot more going on behind that monthly number than most people realize.
- Predi Designs has grown almost entirely through real-world recommendations. The business has thrived because former clients and colleagues continue to speak highly of their experience long after a project ends. Their confidence in our work built a steady flow of new opportunities without paid advertising or heavy online marketing. This article highlights how those offline connections and positive experiences shaped the company’s growth and inspired the testimonial features on the 2025 website.
